  • Glioma is a form of tumor originating from the glia, the cells that surround and support the neurons of the central nervous system (CNS). Gliomas may cause headaches, seizures, and changes in personality or cognition
  • Chordoma is a rare type of tumor that occurs in the spine or base of the skull. Chordomas arise from the remaining pieces of the notochord. These tumors occur at the spine, with tailbone and base of the skull serving as other common locations
  • Meningioma is a typically benign and slow-growing tumor that develops from the protective membranes (meninges) surrounding the brain and spinal cord. These tumors push and compress rather than invade the brain
  • Craniopharyngiomas are relatively benign and slow-growing tumors that occur near the pituitary gland and hypothalamus around the center of the brain. Common symptoms include headaches, vomiting, and vision problems
  • Chondrosarcoma is a tumor that affects the cartilage cells of bone. If located at the base of the skull, patient experience headaches, dizziness, hearing loss, numbness, facial pain, and difficulty swallowing
  • Acoustic Neuroma is a tumor that arises from the covering of the nerve responsible for hearing and balance as it passes from the inner ear to your brain. These tumors are noncancerous and generally grow slowly
